One time my butt called my college roommate and her NFL player husband on Christmas Eve at 3 am. I was so mortified I thought it would make it worse to call her at that hour to apologize. Too late - she was so worried about me that she sent the police to my door to check that I wasn’t lying in the gutter in NYC whimpering - “help - call my roomie in Arizona”. As I sheepishly explained to the young rookie cop that it was a misunderstanding, my ex-roomie, always looking out for me, replied “At least I send cute men to your house as a present”. Bless her heart…
