Bad body image should be my second name. It is like a part of my DNA. I have to get my husband to take a photo of me before I leave the house sometimes because what I see in the mirror is completely opposite to the actual photo. It seems so ingrained. I am more accepting, nay, resigned to that insidious mindset.

Why are we so friggin' hard on ourselves? Believe me, your old friend in L.A. will be so happy to see you, she is NOT going to be thinking, "Too bad Steph isn't a little bit thinner." But I know what you mean--I'm going to L.A. next month and I was thinking the same thing!

I do hope you can leave this feeling on the plane. Although I guess it depends on the crowd and the hood, I found the LA area to be more laid back about body image than I would have thought. Most of LA isn't the Hollywood crowd, but low-key and progressive people.
