Geez! Some one sure knows how to suck all the fun out of a book that is obviously meant to help shed some humor on the fact that…GUESS WHAT CHICKADEES?? We are getting older!! No matter how “hot” you may think you are at 40 (and I’m sure you are), you too are getting older missy from SF. And you know what?? It’s alot better than the alternative! Reading your post was like drinking a martini without the vodka. What’s the point? there’s no fun in it!

OMG…are you serious? Women who can’t lighten up and think that anyone, anywhere who has a little fun with being a woman is “adding to the problem” hasn’t learned that she IS the problem…so happy to be comfortable in my own skin…LOVE being a woman, have NEVER felt I was a “victim” of the cruel, male society…and I LOVE your “little gimmick” Stephanie! Absolutely love it!

I think Denise left her sense of humor at home……..or possibly never had it in the first place. Keep doing what you’re doing Stephanie. there are more of us who “get you” and what you’re saying and doing, than those who don’t. If you can’t laugh at yourself, you’re going to have a long, boring life ahead of you.

(btw you totally do look like a cross between the Julias!) Denise in SF has obviously missed the point- she actually reinforces your point with her supposed attack on you. Whether conventionally beautiful in our youth or not, what being a Formerly is about (to me) is the sexiness that comes with getting to know yourself, and of being comfortable in your own skin (or, in a shift.) HELLOOO, isn’t that what Formerly Hot is all about, the redefinition of ‘hot’ ??

so, what she is actually saying is that she is a formerly, fat & insecure 20-something and now she is a finally hot 40-something, like it or not, she seems to have fallen right into a “tidy little category”
