Denise and I have had them for a year. Aviva used to make fun of them until she joined crew, and one of her friends on the team wore them. Denise has run in them pretty consistently with great success. I transitioned too quickly, and developed achilles tendonitis, which I mostly ignored for months (except when it hurt; then I stopped what I was doing), then in November saw an orthopedist, who gave me exercises to do and told me to stop running entirely (in any shoes) or two months. My two months are about up, my tendon is way better, though still a bit swollen (perhaps scar tissue that isn't going away), and I'm excited to run in my FFs again. Though this time, I will build up gradually, starting with just half a mile, and adding half a mile per week.

I love my Vibrams! Mine are blue (http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/products/Five-Fingers-Bikila-Womens.htm). If I buy a new pair, I'll get the "Flow" which has a thicker sole. My 20-year-old son has those and runs in them. I've used mine on the treadmill and on my bike. Oh, and when I had my car inspected a few weeks ago, the young guy who did it was wearing them. So they aren't just for formerlies. In fact, most women I know don't like them. (But they haven't had bunion surgery when they were 20 like I did.) I recently bought a pair of shoes with SIX INCH heels--and sent them back before I broke a hip.
